The historic Jewish cemetery in Dobrodzień was established around 1729.
In 1943, the cemetery was taken over by the Gestapo. It was badly damaged during the war. The devastation continued after 1945.
About 140 tombstones have survived, the oldest of which dates back to 1729 or 1730. There are a total of 11 known tombstones from 1750–1800. The graves of relatives of Edith Stein, recognized by the Roman Catholic Church as a saint, are located in the cemetery. The tombstones were made of sandstone and limestone.
